Cover for Breadboard

If you leave the lead wire of a component long or use jumping wires to build circuits temporarily on the breadboard, you accidentally touch it and cause short circuit or components to come off. We believe that some of you have experienced such trouble.

To prevent such accident, we made a cover for breadboard.

We want to prepare many products to be sold folded.

Its dimensions are perfect for common breadboards. A breadboard fits in well and does not wobble. The top is a lid, so you can open it and modify the circuit again.

As we have already mentioned in this article, breadboards are supplied by several different manufacturers, and their dimensions vary by the series. First we prepared the cover for one of the most common breadboards, EIC-801. We will provide the covers in several different sizes in the future.

It is the view from the bottom of the currently prepared version. It is just the right size with no space.

It has just the right thickness for two-layer breadboard consisting of two lead-through breadboards that we introduced in other article

Depending on height of a component to be attached, it may not fit in when it is too tall. If you make the case thicker, however, you can’t reach a switch or tab to be exposed. (Having a tab exposed means using it as shown in the image below, for example. Here, it is used with a tab of the blue semi fixed resistance exposed outside the case.)

So, the case is moderate in thickness and you may have to be a little creative when using it, by putting legs to the breadboard and stretch them in the box to fix it.

When you put the breadboard into the case, there may be a little space above the connector of USB mini B or the blue semi-fixed resistance may be buried in the case. In such situations

Make legs by inserting component similar to the above into the breadboard at the bottom.

Several components are inserted here. It makes it a little better (although it might be hard to see).

It is a tip to adjust thickness.
This is a simple case that you can cut with a cutter knife. To cut out a hole to insert the USB cable, attach the sensor or access the volume control or switch, put a mark using a pen and cut it out with scissors or a cutter knife as shown below:

One more tip for use: the case is just the right size and you may struggle taking out the breadboard. In that case, squeeze the center of the bottom to make it easier to take it out.
